Background
I began my career as an educator, but quickly realized that I had a desire to dig deeper into Special Education and the social/emotional development of children. I became a certified Child Life Specialist at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and worked on the school-age medical surgical unit until the birth of my children. I took some time to dive head first into motherhood because I have three very bright and quirky children. My vast experiences raising my children ignited my passion to help other parents with children who don't quite fit neatly into boxes. Together, we will co-create strategies to help you to understand your child on a much deeper level, provide support, and help your child truly embrace their gifts.
Professionalism and Experience
As a professionally trained family coach, current teacher, mother of three (two of which are already in college), I have the tools, the heart, and the understanding to help you create a better relationship with your child (yes, even teenagers!). Together we can create strategies to help you meet both short term and long term goals for your child's future success.
Taking the Steps
Committing to positive parenting is just that – a commitment, and it’s a big one that will take a lot of consistency and dedication. My commitment is to provide you with compassion, accountability, understanding, support and respect.
And One More Thing...
Different Drum is my passion because I truly want to be the person I wish I had had in my life when my children were very young. I want you to know that you are not alone. I've been exactly where you are and it is my goal to help as many families as possible. If you need assistance with payments, let's talk about it. I never want cost to be a reason to not get the support your family needs. I am here for YOU. I look forward to hearing your story soon.
